Rountree and Stokes Give Cobra Women 2-1 Win in Overtime

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Junior Sarah Rountree (Plantation, Fla.) blistered a shot into the back of the net in the 95th minute of play to give the Coker women's soccer team a 2-1 overtime win over North Greenville University on Tuesday night in Conference Carolinas women's soccer action.

The win is the Cobras first of the season and first under first year head coach Dan Muns.

In a very tightly contested game, the Cobras struck first with a goal from freshman Carrie Stokes (Camden, S.C.) to start the second half. Stokes' goal was the first of collegiate career.

The Crusaders answered with a goal from Jade Salle in the 60th minute to tie the game at one. The score remained even through regulation and then it was Rountree that gave the Cobras the win in extra time.

Coker goalkeeper Haley Gibson (Chesterfield, S.C.) had 10 saves in the match and allowed just one goal.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday against Queens University of Charlotte at 7:30 p.m.
