Coker Falls to Valdosta State 1-0

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Coker's freshman goalkeeper Lizz Morris (Stillwater, N.Y.) had another stellar night between the pipes for the women's soccer team, but the Cobras were unable to come away with the win, as they were narrowly defeated by Valdosta State 1-0 in a non-conference game on Friday night.

Coming into Friday's game Morris led Conference Carolinas in saves made and she added 13 more to her total.  Morris has made 10+ saves in each of her first three collegiate games.

Valdosta State's freshman Abbi Edwards (Sugar Hill, Ga.) scored the Blazers' lone goal (49:02, E. Gray Powell) early in the start of the 2nd
half.

The loss drops Coker to 0-3, while Valdosta improves to 3-0 on the season.

Coker's next match will be September 11, at Mars Hill.  Kick-off is scheduled for 2 pm.
