Erskine Fleet Soar Past Cobras 5-1

DUE WEST, S.C. – Coker sophomore Rachel Solomon (Bluffton, S.C.) scored the Cobras lone goal of the match, an unassisted ball in the 39th minute of the Coker women's 5-1 loss to Erskine College on Wednesday night in Conference Carolinas women's soccer action.

Erskine tallied two goals in the first half and held a 2-1 lead at the break before jumping ahead with three goals in the second for the 5-1 victory.

Junior goalkeeper Haley Gibson (Chesterfield, S.C.) made nine stops in her first start of the season, while Solomon had five shots, four of which were on goal and Sarah Rountree (Plantation, Fla.) had two shots on goal for the Cobras.

The Cobra women will be back on the pitch for their next match on Friday, Sept. 16 on the road at Eckerd College at 7 p.m.
