GREENWOOD, SC – Stacey Copeland and Nicole Bulinsky scored two goals apiece to lead the Lander Bearcats to their second consecutive victory, 6-0, over Coker in a non-conference women’s soccer match Wednesday night.

 

Lander broke the game open with four first-half goals and improved its record to 3-6. The Cobras fell to 4-6.

The Bearcats took a 1-0 lead at the 22:39 mark when sophomore midfielder Ali Linnemann’s pass from the right side found Copeland in front of the net. Copeland, who also had two assists, tapped it in.

 

Lander scored just 1:33 later, at 21:06, on junior midfielder Elise Goldy’s goal off a long pass from Copeland.

Sophomore midfielder Tina Dixon, replacing the injured Jannica Finnberg, made it 3-0 when she took a touch pass from Copeland, dribbled in and beat the goalkeeper.

 

Copeland, a freshman midfielder, scored her second goal of the match with just 17 seconds left in the first half unassisted, nailing the shot over the keeper’s head.

 

The Bearcats outshot Coker 11-3 in the first half.

 

Bulinsky, a senior midfielder, scored Lander’s final two goals. She scored at the 77:33 mark off an assist from senior defender Noel Livernois, and again at 84:58 off sophomore forward Sabrina Backlund’s assist.

 

For the game, Lander outshot the Cobras 23-6. Bearcats goalkeeper Rachael Hine and Coker goalkeeper Jamie Swift each had five saves.
