MANHEIM, Pa. - Seven Coker wrestlers were named Scholar All-Americans by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), announced by the organization today (Monday, Apr. 6).

Omar Armengol, Alex Braden, Ryan Camp, Corey Christie, Jhavon Innocent, Matthew Kieta and Ethan Welsh were the Cobras on the list of 273 total Division II wrestlers from 50 institutions to receive the honor. Wrestlers had to have a minimum of a 3.4 grade point average to be nominated for the honor.

Armengol, Christie and Innocent qualified for the 2020 Division II NCAA National Championships, while Kieta earns his second career academic All-American honor.

Armengol is a native of Hialeah, Fla., a physical education major and the son of Omar and Yenny Armengol.

Braden is a native of Hilton Head Island, S.C., a business major and the son of Nic and Michelle Braden.

Camp is a native of Canton, Ga., an exercise science major and the son of Phil and Karen Camp.

Christie is a Lower Burrell, Pa. native, a biology major and the son of James and Lori Christie.

Innocent is a Spring Valley, N.Y. native, a mathematics major and the son of Michaelle Pierre-Louis.

Kieta is a Sevierville, Tenn. native, a biology major and the son of Maria and Kazimierz Kieta.

Welsh is a Hartsville, S.C. native, a business administration major and the son of Tiffany and David Welsh.
