No. 25 Cobras Take Down Emmanuel (Ga.) 31-11 on Senior Day

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The No. 25 Coker University wrestling team took down Emmanuel (Ga.) in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action for Senior Day on Sunday (Feb. 16) by a score of 31-11.

John Watts started things off gutting out a 3-2 decision over Mitchell McGhee, before No. 17 Chris Poland earned a victory on his Senior Day by tech fall (17-0, 3:52) over Deven Perez. After Alex Braden earned a win by forfeit at 141 pounds, Matthew Kieta would get a Senior Day victory by major decision at 149 over Taquel Young 15-7. Emmanuel (Ga.) would get on the board and back in the match with wins at 157 and 165, before Jhavon Innocent grinded out a 5-3 decision over Myles Williams. Corey Perkins-Willett would continue his winning ways with a 15-3 major decision at 184 over Markis Hill, before Emmanuel would pick up their final win of the match at 197 pounds. Marco Mason, Jr. would pick up a win by forfeit on his Senior Day to close out the match and secure the victory for the Cobras.

Coker concludes the regular season on Friday (Feb. 21) when they travel to Lynchburg, Va. to take on Liberty University. The action is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start.
