Coker Drops Conference Match to Saints

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker wrestling team opened up 2018 with a home ECAC bout against the Limestone Saints. Despite fighting all the way through, the Cobras dropped the match 27-9.

Michael Milam, Luis Peguero, and Robert Parland earned the three victories for the team.

Peguero, recently ranked tenth in the latest NWCA polls, took Limestone's Matt Rudy, tabbed fourth in the same poll, to sudden victory where he defeated Rudy 5-4. Both wrestlers exchanged points and headed to the ultimate ride out, where Peguero earned a point from a stall call on Rudy, and an escape sealed the victory.

The Navy and Gold return to the mat Jan. 18 for their Senior Day match against King (TN). The conference dual is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
