Tague Named to All-ECAC Second Team

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker wrestling's Jordon Tague was named to the Eastern Collegiate Athletics Conference (ECAC) Second Team, the conference announced this afternoon (Mar. 31).

The sophomore from Winter Springs, Fla. was tied for the team-lead in wins this season, racking up 12 victories for the Cobras. Four of Tague's 12 victories came by way of bonus points, which included three falls and one major decision. After earning third place in the UNC Pembroke Classic at 157 pounds, Tague bumped up to 165 pounds and posted a 4-1 record in dual meets to round out the regular season.

In post season action, Tague was one of three Coker wrestlers that advanced to day two of the Super Region Two Championships. Tague's tournament was highlighted with an 8-7 decision in the quarterfinals over the 11th ranked wrestler in the nation at the time in John Glunt of Belmont Abbey. Tague and Glunt were tied 6-6 on the scoreboard in the third period, but Glunt accumulated over a minute of riding time and technically led Tague by one point. With time expiring in the match, Tague hit a well-timed headlock to secure the exciting 8-7 decision.

Tague is the sixth Coker wrestler to earn All-ECAC honors in the programs short two year affiliation with the conference. A complete listing of the All-ECAC wrestling teams can be found here
