Coker Wrestling Picked Second in ECAC Preseason Poll

DANBURY, Conn. - The Coker College wrestling team has been picked to finish second in the ECAC preseason poll for the 2016-17 season. The Cobras accumulated 34 points in the preseason poll; just 15 points back from ECAC favorite Newberry College.

UNC Pembroke tied the Cobras in the preseason poll with 34 points, while Limestone, Emmanuel, King, and Belmont Abbey rounded out the rankings.

The Cobras are coming off a successful season where they finished 14-3 overall with a 4-2 mark in the ECAC. In addition, history was made when Austin Akins became Coker's first wrestling All-American with a fourth place finish at 285 pounds in the Division II Wrestling National Championships. 

A full season preview will be released once the Super Region II rankings are announced. Below are the full results of the 2016-17 ECAC wrestling preseason poll:
