Women's Lacrosse Falls to Lincoln Memorial

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker women's lacrosse team dropped their South Atlantic Conference game against Lincoln Memorial on Friday (Mar. 25) by a score of 18-9.

The Railsplitters jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, but the Cobras would battle back. Two goals each from Amariah Lawson and Annabelle Chuilli tied the game back up at 4-4 three and a half minutes into the second quarter. Lincoln Memorial would respond with three unanswered goals of their own before Meagan Gallagher found the back of the net just before halftime to make the score 7-5.

LMU came out of the halftime break firing, as they outscored the Cobras 5-1 in the third quarter to make the score 12-6. The lone goal of the third period for Coker came from Madeline Hart on an assist from Bailey Johnson. Annabelle Chuilli added a fourth quarter hat-trick, but the Railsplitters were too much on the afternoon and took the decision by the 18-9 final.

Chuilli led the way offensively for the Cobras, as she set a career high with five goals. Lawson added two goals, while Gallagher and Hart each tallied a score. Makenzie Stroup and Bailey Johnson each had two helpers in the game to go along with one assist from Gallagher and one from Hart. Abby Kellner recorded 20 saves in goal to bring her season total to 118.

The Cobras will return to action on Wednesday (Mar. 30) when they host the number one team in the nation, Queens (N.C.). First draw is scheduled for 4pm, with live video and statistics available at www.cokercobras.com
