Cobras Welcome Belmont Abbey for Saturday Non-Conference Tilt

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's lacrosse will take on Belmont Abbey in non-conference action Saturday night (Apr. 1). Video and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker (8-3, 4-1 SAC) is coming off a 15-9 win over South Atlantic Conference rival Catawba on Wednesday (Mar. 29). Marabeth Durden led the charge for the Cobras, finding the back of the net four times in the win. The senior also collected eight ground balls and forced two turnovers. Haley McCusker netted a hat trick, while Faith Kent and Mackenzie Baker each scored twice. Four other Cobras scored in the win. Kaitlyn Kimball led the defensive effort, picking up four ground balls and causing four turnovers. Cassie Williams (8-3) made 11 saves in the cage.

On the year, McCusker's 47 goals are the highest total in the SAC, while Kent's 32 goals are fifth in the league. McCusker's 4.40 goals per game average is third in the nation among qualified scorers. Kent's 23 assists are also third in the conference. The duo are tied at the top of the conference in points with 55. Defensively, Durden's 42 ground balls are second in the conference, while Kimball's 34 ground balls are sixth-highest in the league. Ordemann is eighth in the conference with 32 ground balls. Durden is also fourth in the league in draw controls with 41, while Baker is sixth with 35. Kimball leads the conference and is in the top ten nationally in caused turnovers with 37. Durden is also tied for second in the category with 20 caused turnovers. Ordemann is 10th individually with 15. Between the pipes, Williams is third in the league in goals against average with an 8.45 mark, while she is tied for fourth in the league in saves with 93. Williams's 50.0 save percentage is also third in the conference, and her eight wins are tied for the most in the league.

Belmont Abbey comes into the matchup 7-5 and 6-1 in Conference Carolinas. Rebecca Luca leads the Crusaders in goals with 34, the sixth-highest total in Conference Carolinas.

Opening draw is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Coker Athletic Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
