Coker Women's Lacrosse Adds Seven for 2014-15

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College women's lacrosse coach Steve Efland announced today that Lex Dingman, Claudia Jenkins, Chastin Dodd, Samantha Dodge, Haley McCusker, Faith Kent and Taylor Colarusso have all agreed to play for the Cobras. These seven young ladies will join the Navy and Yellow beginning in the fall of 2014.

"This group of young ladies is incredible," said Efland. "They bring experience, skill and depth to our program and will be key contributors to our growth on the field next season. However, they are just as gifted in the classroom and will add to identity our program has already set of being model student-athletes."

Dingman, a defender, is from Virginia Beach, Va., where she is a standout lacrosse player for Bayside High School.

Lex will pursue a degree in criminology. She is the daughter of Tabatha Morrison and Gregory and Hannah Dingman.

Jenkins is a midfielder from Boonsboro High School in Keedsville, Md. She was a three-sport athlete in lacrosse, basketball and soccer for the Warriors. In lacrosse she was named team MVP and first team all-conference.

Claudia will major in biology. She is the daughter of Kimberly Thrasher and Joseph Melody.

Dodd is a defender from Orlando, Fla. She attends Lake Nona High School where she is a two-sport standout in lacrosse and cheerleading.

Chastin will study biology with a pre-medical concentration. She is the daughter of Chasity and Cory Gaul and Jake and Belinda Dodd.

Dodge, a defender, hails from Virginia Beach, Va., where she attends First Colonial High School. During her time as a Patriot, Dodge was named team captain and all-conference.

Samantha will study criminology. She is the daughter of Fred Dodge and Nicole Linton.

McCusker is a native of Warwick, R.I., where she is a standout two-sport athlete in lacrosse and soccer for Pilgrim High School. She is a four-time all-city and all-district selection and a two-time team captain. One of the leading scorers in Rhode Island, she scored 68 goals with five assists during her senior season.

Haley is an undecided major. She is the daughter of Lynn and James McCusker.

Kent is an attacker from Winter Springs High School in Winter Springs, Fla. She is a two-sport athlete for the Bears, playing lacrosse and weightlifting. She was a second team all-conference selection.

Faith is an undecided major. She is the daughter of Phyllis Kent and her sister Chelsea is Coker's assistant women's lacrosse coach.

Colarusso, a defender, is from Lake Nona High School in Orlando, Fla. She was a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse and was named an academic All-American.

Taylor will pursue a communication degree. She is the daughter of Louis and Lisa Colarusso.
