Women Cobras Finish 10th

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. -- Sophomore Daniella Gyoni led a balanced attack on Tuesday as the Coker women's golf team finished 10th in the Low Tide Intercollegiate at the Dunes West Golf & River Club.

After rounds of 75 and 78 on Monday, Gyoni rolled in one birdie and had three bogeys in a round of 74 on Tuesday on the 6,066-yard layout. Her 227 total of 11-over tied her for 22nd in a field of 75 players.
The Cobras shot 315-317-316--948. No. 20 Limestone, the tourney host, won at 295-288-292--875. Limestone's Claudia Hastings also secured medalist honors at 72-71-71--214 (-2).
Coker senior Mack Taylor Bailey (79-78-83--240) was 52nd, senior Haylie George (82-81-78--241) tied for 54th and junior Kelly Campman (83-80-81--244) placed (83-80-81--244) took 58th. Freshman Gisele Morna fired 79 and 86 on Monday but finally succumbed to a back injury and had to withdraw. Playing as an individual in her second collegiate start, freshman Felicia Sundgren tied for 54th at 80-84-77--241. 
Sundgren's 77 was her collegiate best. George and Campman each rolled in five birdies during the tournament.
"Everyone contributed this week, which was great," Coker head coach John Hackney said. "Daniella had all three rounds in the 70s and Mack did it twice. It was also nice to see that our drop score was lower than usual in each round."
The Cobras return to action March 11-12 in the Dr. Jerry Surratt Memorial at Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe, N.C.
