Cobras Compete at the Meredith Insurance Fall Kickoff

The Coker University women's golf team was competing in a tournament at The Links at Stoney Point. The course was a par 72 and measured 5832 yards in length.

In the first round, Mack Taylor Bailey, a sophomore, had a solid round, shooting a 81. Mack had a consistent performance throughout the round, with no holes higher than a 5. Bailey finished the round at +9, and tied for 32nd place.

Kelly Campman, a junior, had a more challenging round, shooting a 83. She had a few rough holes, including a double bogey on the 8th hole. Campman finished the round at +11, tied for 66th place.

Haylie George, a senior, had a mixed performance in the first round. She started off with a solid 44 on the front nine, and came back on the back nine with a 39. George finished the round at +11, tied for 60th place.

 Giselle Morna, a freshman golfer, started off strong with a score of 44 on the front nine holes. However, she struggled a bit on the back nine, shooting a 48. Overall, Morna finished the round with a score of 92, putting her at +20 for the day.

In the second round, Morna had a turn around performance. She shot a 41 on the front nine, and heated up a little more with a 40 on the back nine. Morna finished the round at +9, which put her at a +29 for the day, putting her in 80th place overall.

Bailey had a better second round, shooting a 74. Mack had a strong finish with three birdies on the last four holes. Bailey finished the round at +2, tied for 39th place.

Campman had a hard time finding a rhythm as she shot a 38 on the fron nine and a 43 on the back nine.  Campman finished both rounds at +20, tied for 66th place.

George also had a challenging second round, shooting a 35 on the front 9,and than shot a 44 on the back nine. George finished both rounds at +18, tied for 60th place.

Overall, it has been a slow tournament for the Cobras. They faced challenging conditions and struggled to find consistency in their rounds. However, they showed resilience and determination throughout the tournament heading into the final round.
