Four Cobras Earn WGCA ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLARS

Hartsville, SC- Today marks a momentous occasion in women's collegiate golf, as the 2022-23 WGCA All-American Scholar Team has been unveiled. This prestigious honor recognizes the outstanding achievements of 1,431 women's collegiate golfers from 387 programs across the United States. Four Cobras were honored in this year's list. The announcement is a testament to these exceptional athletes' dedication, hard work, and academic prowess. The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team is an esteemed accolade that celebrates the dual commitment of student-athletes to both their sport and their studies. To be eligible for this honor, golfers must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 while competing in at least 50% of their team's regularly scheduled competitive rounds. 

Haylie George is a sophomore from Pittsboro, North Carolina. She completed the year with a stroke average of 82.26 on the course. George was named to the 2023 Commissioner's Honor Roll. While at Coker, Haylie majored in Chemistry and finished the year with a 3.50 GPA. 

Mack Bailey completed the year with a 3.81 GPA while studying Business Administration. Bailey came to Coker from Castaic, California. Bailey was able to complete the season with a stroke average of 78.96. Mack was named to the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll. 

Jenna Werle completed her senior year with an impressive 4.00 GPA while majoring in Criminology. She was also named to the 2023 Commissioner Honor Roll. Werle was also awarded the Elite 23 award in the spring. She comes to us from Cocoa, Florida. Jenna finished the year with an average stroke of 83.21.  

Kathleen Escobar is a graduate student who majored in Nursing with a GPA of 4.00. Escobar was also named to the 2023 Commissioner Honor Roll. Kathleen finished ten tournaments and had an average stroke of 77.50. She is from  Katy, Texas
