Women's Golf Wraps up Final Day

Women's Golf Wraps up Final Day

Our ladies put together a nice round today, firing a 20-over 308, which was better than half the field. The tournament included 10 D2 teams ranked in the Top 50 in the nation.

The Lady Cobras carded eight birdies in registering one of the better rounds in school history. Head coach John Hackney was also pleased that his ladies only had five double-bogeys...and no scores higher than that.
Graduate student Kathleen Escobar, who was nursing a sore foot, still sank two birdies in a round of 2-over 74. Senior Jenna Werle had an excellent day, posting a 76 despite two double bogeys. She also had two birdies.
Freshman Daniella Gyoni of Sweden notched two birdies in a round of 77 and junior Mack Taylor and sophomore Haylie George shot 81 apiece with one birdie each.
"We are making steady progress, which shows by the fact we held our own with some very good teams. Our ladies are getting more mentally tough and making better decisions, which is good to see. Now, they'll have a little break before the stretch run of our season."
