Women's Golf Wraps up Play at World Golf Invitational

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL- The Coker University Women's golf team completed play at the Wolrd Golf Invitational hosted at the Slammer and Squire where they competed against several top-ranked teams.

Jenna Werle led the Cobras in the action. Werle shot an 85 (+13) on the day and 167 (+23) overall. Jordan White shot an 84 (+12) in round two and shot for par on eight holes. Haylie George shot an 88 (+16) on the day and shot 175 (+31) overall. Lora Ledbetter shot an 87 (+15) and a 180 (+36) overall.

"It was another tough day at the ranch for the lady Cobra's. The weather was terrible. We had 48?and rain off and on in a 7 hour round. The grounds were very wet and soggy and we just never got anything going the whole week," said John Hackney.

"It's always tough to score when you have just 4 players because you don't have a drop score, so we will look forward to having a full lineup next week when we come back down to Saint Augustine's for the Spring Kickoff."

"We just need to be more consistent in our play and make some more birdies... we only had four this week. Our ladies can look really good at times but we need to learn how to hold it together for an entire round," said Hackney.

Coker is back in action next Monday (Feb. 14) at the Spring Kickoff in St. Augustine, Florida. Coverage can be found at www.cokercobras.com
