HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coming off of a tournament championship at the Converse College Fall Invite (Sept. 18-19) the Coker College women's golf team will clean their clubs and tee off seeking a second straight title. Traveling south to Hilton Head, S.C., the Cobras will take on the Hilton Head Lakes Intercollegiate at the Hilton Head Lakes Golf Club (Sept. 23-24) this weekend. 

Nothing sets the tone for the start of the season like bringing home the title from your first tournament. For the Navy and Gold that feat was accomplished at the Carolina Country Club. Taylor Mayers helped lead Coker to the front with rounds of 82 and 72 for a 36-hole total of 154 to finish tied for second on the individual leaderboard.

Angela Luna, Kelli Smith, Ana Orlov, and Amber Winburn also contributed in the team's championship run. Each Cobra finished inside of the top 20 in individual scoring.

The women will play a practice round Friday (Sept. 22), followed by two official rounds Saturday (Sept. 23) and Sunday (Sept. 24) in the Hilton Head Lakes Intercollegiate. Results for the rounds can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
