Cobras Claim Fourth at Converse Spring Invite

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Coker College women's golf team shot a second round team score of 318 on Tuesday (Feb. 21) to wrap up competition at the Converse Spring Invite. The Cobras finished the two-day tournament with a team score of 639, which was good enough for a fourth place showing. 

Kelli Smith led the way for the Navy and Gold. She shot a second round score of 76, leaving her in a tie for fifth place individually with a two-day score of 154. Angela Luna and Bella Harris finished with tournament scores of 161, placing them in a tie for 23rd individually. Luna fired a second round 79, while Harris signed off on a second round 85. Taylor Mayers rebounded with a closing round of 78 on day two, leaving her in a tie for 27th on the individual leaderboard. Ana Orlov rounded things out for the Cobras, she signed off on a final round score of 95.

Converse took home the team title. The Valkyries finished with a team score of 627. Marley Felthousen was the individual medalist. She fired rounds of 73 and 76 for a 149 tournament total.

The Cobras will be back in action on Mar. 13-14 when they host the Coker Women's Golf Invitational at Hartsville Country Club.
