Demby and Luna Pace Cobras to Fourth Place Finish

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – The Coker College women's golf team finished fourth in the Etowah Intercollegiate after a two-day team total of 648 (+72). The Cobras bettered its day one score of 326 by firing a second round 322.

The Navy and Yellow were led by junior Taylor Demby and freshman Angela Luna who both finished inside the top 10 individually. Demby carded a second round 75 (+3) to finish with a two day total of 152 which was good enough for a tie for fourth. Luna finished with a round of 79 (+7) after a day one 77 to shoot a two-day total of 156 which gave her an eighth place finish overall. Sophomore Taylor Gaskins and senior Mallory Thompkins both placed inside the top 25 with two-day totals 169 and 171 respectively. Junior Tensley Clowser rounded out the starting five with a 36-hole score of 181.

Newberry College took home the team title with a tournament total of 619 (+43). Carson Newman's Elizabeth England took the individual title with rounds of 73 and 75.

The ladies will be back in action on Oct. 6-7 as they head to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate.
