Cobras Dominate Newberry Wolves in mid-week match up

Hartsville, SC - The Coker University Women's Basketball Team has claimed their ninth victory of the season over Newberry College (Feb. 15) with a dominating score of 79-62.

Keeping the Cobras hot, Hope Richardson and Dominique Rodriguez both collected a total of 30 points. Right on their heels, Kristynn Knight zoned in for 11 points while Mya Wasswa and Dasia Lambert had 10. Abigail Keesling, Valicia Demeritte, Diamond Jackson, and Haley McClure registered the remaining 18 points for the Cobras. Collectively, Coker shot an impressive 43.9 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from the three-point range, and 64.9 percent from the free throw line. 

Demeritte led the Cobras in rebounds, snatching down eight of her while Dasia Lambert brought in seven throughout the game. Seven other Cobras were able to get in on the action off the glass, bringing the rebound total to 41. Of the six assists, Abigail Keesling led with two, continuing to be a playmaker for the Cobras. 

The Cobras will be returning to the court on Saturday (Feb. 18th) to celebrate their Senior Night against Mars Hill. Tip off is set for 2:00 PM in Deloach Center.
