Coker Fights Until Final Minute of Game but Unable to Overcome Claflin

Hartsville, SC - The Coker University Women's Basketball Team came up short Saturday against Claflin.  The Cobras are 3-3 on the young season.  

The Cobras fought hard against the Panthers, but fell short in the final minute of the game by a score of 62-61.  Hope Richardson led the Cobras with 14 points, six rebounds and two bloocks.  Valicia Demeritte scored 10 points and Abigail Keesling had 11 points on the night.  

Collectively, the Cobras shot 35.5 percent from the floor, 33.3 percent from behind the three-point line, and 80 percent from the foul line. Dasia Lambert  had five steals and dished out 5 assists on the night.  The Cobras outscored the Panthers 28-14 in the fourth quarter.  

Nya Morris paced the Panters with a game high 20 points on 8-11 shooting from the floor.  

The Cobras will return to the court on Wednesday (Dec. 3rd) against Catawba in Hartsville, SC. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.  Live streaming and stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
