Women's Basketball Falls to UVA Wise in Monday Night League Contest

WISE, Va. - Coker University women's basketball fell to UVA Wise in its Monday night (Feb. 7) South Atlantic Conference contest by a score 79-63.

Saquita Joyner led the way with 15 points, while Dasia Lambert finished with 12 points and Abigail Keesling added 10. Six other Cobras scored in the game. Hope Richardson led the rebounding with a game-high 10 boards, while nine other Cobras were active on the glass in the game. Richardson and Ashauntee Nelson each dished out a team-high four assists, while Keesling and Lambert each recorded three helpers in the game. Three others helped on Coker buckets in the game. Valicia Demeritte led the Cobras with four steals in the game, while six others each registered one steal in the game. Haley McClure posted Coker's lone block in the game.

The Cobras return home to the DeLoach Center on Wednesday (Feb. 9) to host Queens (N.C.) in the annual Play4Kay game. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. from the DeLoach Center, with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
