Women's Basketball Falls at Newberry on Monday

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker University women's basketball fell at Newberry in South Atlantic Conference action on Monday (Jan. 24) by a score of 64-40.

Saquita Joyner led the Cobras with 15 points in the game, while Abigail Keesling added nine points in the game. Dasia Lambert and Hope Richardson each scored five points in the game, while Ashauntee Nelson scored four points while Mariah Mitchem added two. Joyner also led the way on the boards with nine rebounds, while Keesling pulled down five and Richardson secured four. Three other Cobras each grabbed three rebounds, while five others each pulled down one. Keesling dished out a team-high two assists, while Joyner and Haley McClure each had one. Lambert led the Cobras with two steals, while Keesling and Nelson each registered one. Raya Coley registered the lone block in the game for the Cobras.

Coker returns to the hardwood on Wednesday (Jan. 26) at Wingate in South Atlantic Conference action. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. from Wingate, N.C., with video and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.
