Women's Basketball Drops Conference Tilt at No. 16/22 Anderson (S.C.) Wednesday Night

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Coker University women's basketball team dropped its South Atlantic Conference tilt at No. 16/22 Anderson (S.C.) on Wednesday (Jan. 15) by a score of 85-49.

The Trojans led just 7-6 headed to the first quarter media timeout, before extending their lead in the final two minutes of the frame. Anderson would build a lead of 25-10 after the first period.

The Cobras were able to cut into the deficit to get it down to 10 halfway through the second quarter, but Anderson rebuilt its lead in the latter half of the quarter to take a 44-27 lead to the break.

The Trojans would grow their lead further in the second half on their way to the victory.

Hope Richardson led the Cobras with nine points in the game, while Shay Jackson had eight points in the game. Seven other Cobras contributed points in the game. Erin Houser posted a game-high 10 rebounds for Coker, while eight other Cobras were active on the glass in the game. Jalah Horton led the Cobras with two assists on the night, while three other Cobras helped on buckets in the game. Jalah Horton also led the Cobras with three steals on the night, while Richardson and Amanda Cherry each had two and Emily Davis also recorded one.

The Cobras continue their road swing on Saturday (Jan. 18) when they travel to UVA-Wise for another South Atlantic Conference tilt. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
