HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball dropped its South Atlantic Conference contest to Carson-Newman at home 85-47 on Saturday (Jan. 14).

Coker trailed 22-13 after one quarter, before a cold-shooting second quarter left Coker at a 36-18 disadvantage at the half. Coker came as close as within seven in the frame, before the visitors were able to take control and take the double-digit lead to the half. Coker scored four of the first six points in the second quarter, thanks to jump shots from Kendra Lambert and Trai Johnson.

Lambert led the Cobras offensively with 12 points, while Iresha Cooper chipped in 11. Five other Cobras found the score sheet in the contest.

The Cobras are back at home on Wednesday (Jan. 18) when they host Lenoir-Rhyne in South Atlantic Conference action. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
