Cobras Looking for Season Sweep of Catawba

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball looks to get back on track and sweep the season series when they host Catawba on Wednesday (Jan. 27).

Coker suffered a heartbreaking Double-OT 77-70 loss at home to Lincoln Memorial on Saturday (Jan. 23). Four of Coker's starters notched double figures in the scoring department, including Jazz Green's 17 points and 13 rebounds. Kendra Lambert also tallied a game-high 17, while Morgan Williams totaled 12 and Kiara Shoats added 11. 

The Cobras traveled to Catawba back on Nov. 23, picking up an 80-68 win to start conference play. Four Cobras scored in double figures, including Sydney Shull's team-high 16, Jazz Green with 15 points, Kiara Shoats added 12 and Morgan Williams chipped in 11. As a team, Coker shot 51.9 % (28-54) from the field. The team also shot 45% (9-20) from beyond the arc.

Jazz Green is third in the conference in points per game with 15.1 as well as rebounds with 9.6. Terrika Foster is fifth in the conference in field goal percentage at 53.2. 

Catawba comes into the matchup with an 8-9 overall record with a 5-6 mark in conference. Offensively they are led by Bri Johnson and Terri Rogers, who average 15.5 and 14.5 points per game respectively.

Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
