HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's basketball team routed the Queens University of Charlotte Royals, 83-53, on Tuesday (Nov. 25) night in South Atlantic Conference action.

Sharing was the name of the game for the Navy and Yellow, as they tallied 25 assists on their 30 made field goals and had four players score in double figures. Leading the charge was Lakeria Crowder with a game-high seven helpers and seven points, while classmate Tanesha Stenson dropped six dimes to go along with a double-double performance of 21 points and 15 rebounds. Junior Kiara Shoats poured in 21 points, five rebounds and three assists. Rounding out the scoring was the duo of Kelley Godbout and Hailey Yohn, who netted 12 points apiece.

The Cobras would use a late first half run to open up a 13-point lead on Queens, but the dagger would be Stenson's buzzer-beating three as time expired in the first half that sent Coker into the break up 16.

The Navy and Yellow's hot shooting would carry over into the second half as the team connected on 14 of its 26 attempts in the half, including four-of-six from downtown. Queens would score a few buckets late, but the margin of victory for the Cobras would stand at 30.

The Navy and Yellow will take some time off for Thanksgiving break, but will return to the hardwood on Wednesday (Dec. 3) for a non-conference tilt with the Braves of UNC Pembroke. Tip-off is scheduled for a 6 p.m. in Coker's new DeLoach Center.
