Cobra Women’s Basketball Tips Off Season against Limestone and Belmont Abbey

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's basketball team will open up its season this weekend with games on Friday (Nov. 14) and Saturday (Nov. 15) as a part of the Sodexo SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge taking place at Coker's Harris E. and Louise H. DeLoach Center. The Cobras will host the Limestone College Saints on Friday at 5:30 p.m., then quickly turn around and host the Belmont Abbey College Crusaders on Saturday at 7 p.m. Broadcast and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Navy and Yellow are coming off exhibition losses to SEC powerhouses University of South Carolina and Vanderbilt. They are led by senior guard Tanesha Stenson who was named preseason second team All-SAC after a junior season where she averaged 15.1 points to go along with pulling down 6.3 rebounds.

Limestone travels to Hartsville after suffering an exhibition loss to ACC power Duke University. The Saints were selected as the favorites in Conference Carolinas and are currently ranked No. 11 nationally in Division II. They are led by Preseason All-American Celestra Warren who averaged 14.9 points last season.

Belmont Abbey is coming off a historic 2013-2014 season. The Crusaders finished 22-9 last season and advanced all the way to the second round of the NCAA DII National Tournament.

This weekend's games will be the first to take place in newly opened Harris E. and Louise H. DeLoach Center and are all a part of the Sodexo SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge. Games tip off on Friday at 12:30 p.m., and at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Reserved seating will be $15, general admission for adults will be $5, students with ID and seniors will be $3 and admission is free for all Coker College students, faculty and staff. Ticket will be good for all four games each day.
