Coker To Host Anderson in Regular Season Finale

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's basketball team will play in their final regular season home game this Saturday (Feb. 22) against Anderson University.  A live video webcast of the game can be found at www.cokercobras.com

Saturday's game will be the last collegiate competition for three Cobras in the Timberlake-Lawton gymnasium.  The seniors from the Coker women's basketball team will be recognized at halftime of the men's game.  This group includes Jasmine Evans, Patricia Sullivan, and Jessica Cohen.

In their first meeting, the Cobras battled their way to a 72-66 win over the Trojans.  Tanesha Stenson and Kelley Godbout led the way for Coker in that competition after scoring 18 and 14 points, respectively.  Stenson also snagged down 11 boards.

Along with Stenson, Cohen will be looking to make an impactful performance on the offensive end.  Both Stenson and Cohen lead the Navy and Yellow with an average of 13.8 and 10.3 points per game, respectively. 

Anderson is coming into Hartsville after a tough 89-80 overtime loss to Carson-Newman on Saturday (Feb. 22).  The Trojans are led by Lesley Woods and Sierra Simpson.  Woods is the leading scorer on the team with 10.6 ppg, while Simpson is close behind with 10.4.        

Saturday's game is also Make-A-Wish night.  "Blue-Out" t-shirts will be sold at the door for $10, with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  Coker will also be making a special jersey presentation to a Make-A-Wish family, in honor of Dajohnna Frasier. 

Game time is set for 2:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 4:00.  Tickets will be available at the door for $5 for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free to all Coker students, faculty, and staff.
