Cobras Looking to Tame Bulldogs

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker women's basketball team is set to take on the Wingate Bulldogs on Wednesday (Feb. 19) in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium.  The game will be available for a live video webcast at www.cokercobras.com.

When the teams met in January, the Bulldogs came out victorious by a score of 68-63.  The Cobras will be looking to halt the season sweep this Wednesday.

Coker is coming off a tough 47-44 loss to Catawba on Monday (Feb. 17). Tanesha Stenson and Jessica Cohen lead the Cobras with 13.8 and 10.1 points per game, respectively.  Stenson also leads Coker in rebounds, averaging 6.6 per game. Priscilla Fenty follows close behind with 5.9 rebounds per game.

Wingate is coming to Coker after a 54-46 conference win over Queens.  Kayla Harris and Janitsha Williams lead the Bulldogs with 16.8 and 16.3 points per game, respectively. The duo also leads the team in rebounds; Harris with 8.9 and Williams with 7.6. 

Tip-off will be at 6:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 8:00.  Tickets for Wednesday's game can be purchased at the door for $5 per adult and $3 for students. Admission is free for all Coker faculty, staff, and students.
