Hartsville, S.C. – Coker College head women’s basketball coach Carol Meegan is pleased to announce the signing of two players to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period. Nicolette Grigsby and Brittaney Rice will join the Lady Cobra basketball team in the fall of 2010.

“We are very pleased to have Nicolette and Brittaney joining the Lady Cobras. Both of these young ladies are extremely talented players and they will help us in the future,” said Meegan. “Nicolette is a good shooter, plays great defense and should be a very physical player for us, while Brittaney will bring great vision on the court, passing, shooting and defense to the team.”

Grigsby comes to Coker from Sierra Vista High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. There she is an All-Conference performer and was named her team’s Most Improved player for two years.

Rice joins the Lady Cobras by way of Milton, Vermont, where she is a stand-out player for Milton High School. Rice was a Vermont Coaches’ Lake Division First Team selection; Milton High’s Most Outstanding Player and was named to the Vermont Varsity’s “Best Players” Honorable Mention Team. She was Milton’s team leader in points and steals for two years, averaging 14 points per game, five steals per game and six rebounds per game.

Grigsby and Rice will be a part of a very young Lady Cobras squad in 2010, as Coach Meegan graduates five seniors in 2009 and will have just three seniors in 2010.
