Hartsville, SC- The Lady Cobras Basketball Team won their second straight game on Thursday night as they defeated the Flying Fleet of Erskine College 53-43 in women’s collegiate basketball. With the win Coker improves to 6-16 on the year, and 4-11 in the CVAC, while Erskine falls to 4-17 overall, and 3-13 in the CVAC.

 

Neither team had their best night shooting, with Erskine shooting just 30.2 percent from the floor, while Coker shot 38.7 percent. However the Fleet was nearly flawless from the foul line, hitting six of seven, while Coker only made two of seven from the charity stripe.

 

Scoring leaders for Coker were India Elliot with 16 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Lotta Aaltonen had 11 points and five rebounds.

 

Erskine was led by Audrey Timmerman had a game high 22 points and six rebounds and was the only member of the Fleet to score in double figures.

 

The Lady Cobras return to the hardwood on Saturday, when they travel to Pfeiffer University for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off.
