Hartsville, SC- Turnovers got the best of the Coker Lady Cobras Thursday night, 33 to be exact, leading to 28 Mount Olive points, as Coker lost 77-55. Mount Olive (5-7, 2-4 CVAC) controlled the paint scoring 20 second chance points, and 68 of their points from inside. Coker (13-9, 1-4 CVAC) was able to control the foul line, shooting 14-for-24 for the charity stripe and scoring 14 points, as compared to the Trojans four.

 

Mount Olive mounted an early lead, as the entered the half up 41-23. The Cobras came out strong the second half and played the Trojans with in four points, but the damage was already done.

 

Leading the way for Mount Olive were Tomeka Prichard and Helen Moore, Prichard had 23 points and four rebounds, while Moore had 21 points and seven rebounds. Brittany Robich and Alisa Jones finished with eight points each, with Jones adding six rebounds.

 

For the Cobras, India Elliot had 17 points and three rebounds, while Henna Koponen had 14 points and five rebounds. Lotta Aaltonen was the third Coker player is double figures with 11 points and three rebounds.

 

Coker’s next contest comes on Saturday, January 13, as they travel to Belmont Abbey College for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off.
