Hartsville, SC - The Coker women’s basketball team suffered a tough 77-54 conference loss against a determined Lees McRae team. The first half was very close and good 3 point shooting from Tara Nelson kept Coker within touching distance. Nelson led all Coker scorers with 20 points in the game followed by Ashley White who had 13 points for Coker

 

Lees McRae proved strong in the post and on the boards, especially through Denise Wilson who collected 13 rebounds for the Bobcats. Lees McRae out rebounded Coker 48 to 38 throughout the game. Wilson also led the scoring charge for the Bobcats with 20 points which included 10 of 11 free throws. She had strong support from Stephanie Mullinax who contributed 19 points and 7 rebounds.

 

Coker women fall to 4-8 in the CVAC and 4-13 overall. Lees McRae improve to 7-4 in the CVAC and 9-9 overall with the win.
