SUMTER, SC – Coker pulled out its first road victory Monday night 57-51 at Morris College in women’s basketball.  The Cobras improve to 3-3 with the win and take the week off for exams before traveling to face UNC Pembroke on Tuesday, December 14, at 5:00 PM.  

Coker built a 33-25 advantage in the first half and held off the Lady Hornets for the win.  The Cobras converted MC 21 turnovers into 20 points and also did well on the offensive glass, scoring 12 second effort points.

Senior Shamae Hemingway/Conway, SC had her biggest game since returning from injury with 18 points and seven rebounds.  Sophomore India Elliott/Faison, NC scored 12 points and Sara Nelson/Mondovi, WI finished with nine.  Deborah Wilson and Amii Rogers led Morris with nine points each.

Coker out-rebounded the Hornets 39-28 with 17 offensive rebounds, and shot 79 percent from the foul line, a marked improvement over the season average.
