LAURINBURG, NC—Senior guard Mandy Coltrain (Williamston, NC), who was honored at halftime for scoring her 1000th point last game, scored a team-high 16 points for St. Andrews as the Knights defeated visiting Coker College 68-50 on Valentine’s Day in Harris Court. SAPC improved to 13-9 overall and 8-7 in the CVAC while the Lady Cobras fell to 5-17 and 2-13.

Tied 6-6 with six minutes gone the first half, Karen Foggie (Charlotte, NC) hit a field goal to put the Knights on top for good. From that point St. Andrews would go on a 21-8 run to pull out to a 37-14 lead and never look back. Coker pulled to within 17 at halftime, 37-20, with a 7-0 run that was capped off with a Shamae Hemingway (Conway, SC) jumper.

Coltrain would hit a three-pointer on the opening possession of the second half to open up a 20 point advantage. The Lady Cobras would never cut the deficit to more than 17 in the second half.

Turnovers would be the telling stat of the game with Coker committing 20 to St. Andrews’ nine. The Knights had 10 steals while the Lady Cobras out rebounded the Knights, 39-35.

Coltrain hit four from behind the arc in route to her 16 points. Christina Boyd (Hendersonville, NC) and Diana Martinez (Woodbridge, VA) each tallied eight points. Ashley Mitchell (Washington, DC) provided seven rebounds, six points, six assists and three steals.

India Elliot (Faison, NC) led the Lady Cobras with a game-high 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Hemingway added a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.
