Mumford, Lilly Shine as Cobras Compete at JDL College Kickoff Classic

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Coker College men's track and field team opened their 2018-19 season at the JDL College Kickoff Classic on Saturday (Dec. 1).

Senior Jarrel Mumford notched the fifth-fastest time in Coker history in the 200-meter race with a tenth-place finish and a time of 22.90.

Sage Lilly had big day as well, recording the second-fastest time in Coker history when he finished 12th overall in the 400-meter race. Lilly narrowly missed his own school record of 50.29 when he recorded a time of 51.41 on Saturday.

Razzel Kiplaget had an impressive showing in the 800-meter race, finishing in 12th place with a time of 2:04.35.

The Cobras will be back in action on January 13th when they travel back to Winston-Salem, N.C. for the JDL January College Kick-Off. The meet is set to begin at 9:00 am.
