Mullins Places Second in 800m Open, Mumford Ties Coker 100m Dash Record at WBI

COLUMBIA, S.C.- The Coker College men's track and field team had Brandon Mullins bring in a second place finish in the men's 800-meter open event, along with Jarrell Mumford tying the Coker record in the 100-meter dash at the Weems Baskin Invitational on Saturday, March 24. 

Brandon Mullins nearly clipped the Cobras program record in the men's 800-meter open with a time of 1:54.20. The mark stands in at the second-best time for Coker. Mullins' effort landed him a second place finish overall in the event.

Jarrell Mumford and Tony McElveen Jr. both competed in the 100-meter dash and crossed the line in 10.80 and 10.84 seconds respectively. Mumford's time ties his own previous record for best all-time at Coker, while McElveen Jr.'s time strides into second.

Jacob Chebii ran in the men's 3000-meter race and finished in 9:22.33, the second-best time for the Navy and Gold in history.

The Cobras will next take their talents to the Raleigh Relays on Friday and Saturday, March 30-31.
