McElveen Jr.'s Record Day Leads Cobras During Day One of SAC Championships

HICKORY, N.C. – The Coker College Men's track and field team completed day one of the South Atlantic Conference Track and Field Championships on Friday (Apr. 14). 

Marcus Bryant and John Smith Jr. picked up points for the Cobras on day one, Brant finishing fifth in the high jump, while Smith Jr. finished seventh in the pole vault.

In preliminary events, Tony McElveen Jr. finished sixth and seventh in the 200 and 100-meter dash. In the 200-meter, he ran a program-record time of 21,95 seconds, while he tied the program record of 10.88 seconds in the 100-meter. In the 800-meter, Razzel Kiplaget and Brandon Mullins finished sixth and seventh.

The final day of the SAC Championships will conclude tomorrow (Apr. 15).
