Stellar Second Day Propels Cobras to Sixth Place Showing at SAC Championships

HICKORY, N.C. – The Coker College men's track and field team finished in sixth place at the South Atlantic Conference Track and Field Championship.

After finishing day one in eighth, the Cobras rallied to move up the team leaderboard into the sixth position.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Naim Fareed finished in fourth with a time of 15.13, Paul Taylor II finished in fifth with a time of 15.24 and Derrian Moreau came in sixth with a time of 15.78.

In the 100-meter dash, Malik Tarbell came in fourth with a time of 10.88. He also came in fifth in the 200-meter dash, running a time of 21.96 in the final.

Ryan Archbold also notched a fourth-place showing in the 400-meter dash, running a time of 49.56.

In the 800-meter run, Brandon Mullins came in sixth with a time of 1:57.09, while James Gregory came in eighth with a time of 1:57.84.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Taylor II picked up the win, running a time of 54.04 to take home the title. Fareed finished in third with a time of 54.81, while Anthony Clontz came in eighth with a time of 1:04.45.

In the 4x 100-meter relay, the team of Archibold, Clontz, Tarbell and Jarrell Mumford came in fourth place, running a time of 42.48.

In the 4x 400-meter relay the Cobras picked up a runner-up finish. The team of Mumford, Taylor II, Fareed and Razzel Kiplaget ran a time of 3:21.82.

In all, the Cobras scored 64 teams points to take home sixth place.
