Cobras Notch Four Top-Ten Finishes On Day One of CCU Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Coker College men's track and field team finished up day one of competition at the Coastal Carolina University Invitational on Friday (Mar. 11).

Malik Tarbell came in fifth in the long jump, recording a distance of 6.12 meters. Caleb Nesbitt finished with 11th, with a distance of 5.94 meters. Attiyyah Shakir rounded things out for the Cobras in the long jump, finishing in 15th place and recording a distance of 5.83 meters.

In the 1500-meter run, Razzel Kiplaget came in 25th place, with a time of 4:22.51.

Derrian Moreau came in 12th in the 400-meter dash, with a time of 55.79.

In the 800-meter run, James Gregory came in third place, running a time of 2:00.69. Kiplaget finished in seventh place, recording a time of 2:01.72.

In the 4x200-meter relay, the team of Tarbell, Joshua Dacres, Jarrell Mumford and Naim Fareed came in fifth place, with a time of 1:29.22

Jacob Chebii rounded things out for the Cobras, notching a 18th place finish in the 10,000-meter run. He ran a time of 34:07.98.

The Navy and Gold will finish up the final day of the CCU Invitational tomorrow (Mar. 12). Competition is set to begin at 9 a.m.
