Former NCAA Champion Wilson-Long Joins Coker Track & Field Staff

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College head men's and women's track & field coach Benny Morgan announced the addition of Toyinda Wilson-Long to the coaching staff.

"I am thrilled to have Toyinda join our staff," said Morgan. "I believe that she is going to an asset to our programs as she brings a wealth of NCAA experience and a passion for track and field to our young programs."

Wilson-Long joins the Coker staff as a volunteer assistant coach after a very successful career at Purdue University. She was the NCAA Division I Women's Indoor National Champion in the 20-pound weight throw in 1999. She was also two-time All-American and a five-time Big Ten champion for the Boilermakers. She was inducted into the Purdue Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.

A native of Gary, Ind., Wilson-Long holds a Bachelors of Arts in psychology and sociology and an Associates of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue, as well as a Masters in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Indiana State.    

In addition to her coaching duties, Wilson-Long will also be an adjunct professor of communications in Coker's Adult Degree Program.
