Softball Falls to USC Aiken

AIKEN, S.C.- The Coker University softball team dropped their midweek double header to USC Aiken today (March 1) by scores of 2-1 and 5-2. 

 

Game One

Both teams would remain scoreless until the third inning when USC Aiken would score two runs in the bottom of the third. 

 

Coker would try and mount a comeback when Kayla Oswell would send a solo home run over the center field wall to bring the Cobras within one before their comeback would fall short. 

 

Game Two

 

The Pacers would plate two runs in the first inning. Kayla Oswell would send her second home run of the day over the outfield wall to bring the game score to 2-1. 

 

USC Aiken would hit home runs in the second and the fifth to make the game 5-1.

In the sixth inning, Chloe Pelham would score on a wild pitch to bring the final game score to 5-2.

 

Coker is back in action Saturday (March 5th) when they travel to Hickory, N.C. to face conference opponent, Lenoir-Rhyne with game times set for 2 and 4 p.m., with live coverage www.cokecobras.com
