Cobras Welcome Hawks and Knights for Four-Game Homestand

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College softball team (4-0) will be back at home on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 11-12) to take on the visiting Chowan University Hawks and the St. Andrews University Knights. The Cobras and Hawks will square off on Saturday (Feb. 11) at 1 and 3 p.m. Coker and St. Andrews will also play at 1 and 3 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 12). Tayler Barcomb leads the way for the Navy and Gold on the offensive end, batting .615 on the season. Barcomb has eight hits on the season, seven of which are doubles. She has also plated nine RBIs in just four games.

In the circle, Christine Carver and Taylor Forehand each have a perfect 2-0 record. Carver is sporting a 0.64 ERA to go along with 14 strikeouts in 11 innings pitched. Forehand has a 1.35 ERA, allowing two earned runs in 10.1 innings pitched.

The Hawks travel to Hartsville with a 2-6 record and they are led by the .429 batting average of Haley Cooper.

St. Andrews enters the weekend with a 2-2 record.

Opening pitch is set for 1 p.m. on both Saturday (Feb. 11) and Sunday (Feb. 12) with the gates of the Saleeby-Stokes Softball field opening at noon. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
