Cobras Welcome Jaguars For Thursday Matinee

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College softball team will begin a six-game homestand on Thursday (Feb. 9) when the Cobras play host to the visiting Augusta University Jaguars in a non-conference doubleheader. Game one is set for a 1 p.m. start with game two set to begin at 3 p.m. Live stats and broadcast will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker is coming off a two-game sweep of Southern Wesleyan University in its season opener.

The Navy and Gold is led by AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Softball Player of the Week, Tayler Barcomb. Barcomb comes in with a .714 batting average, five hits, four doubles and four RBIs.

In the circle, Taylor Forehand and Christine Carver picked up wins versus SWU, Carver tossing five shutout innings, Forehand allowing just one earned run in 5.1 innings.

Augusta travels to Hartsville with an even 2-2 record. The Jaguars are led on the offensive end by Lydia Hausman. She is batting .583 with seven hits and three RBIs.

Opening pitch is set for 1 p.m., with the gates of the Saleeby-Stokes Softball Field opening at noon. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
