Coker to Host Spring Softball Tournament This Weekend

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College softball team will welcome six teams from across the southeast to Hartsville for the Coker Spring Softball Tournament this weekend (Feb. 26-28).

The three-day event will take place at Byerly Park in Hartsville with games beginning at 11 a.m. Friday morning and running through 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. All games will be played on fields six and eight of Byerly's softball complex.

Making the trip to Hartsville will be University of Charleston, West Virginia State University, West Virginia Tech, King University, Lees-McRae College and Bloomsburg University.

The Cobras will open the tournament with two games on Friday afternoon. Their first game will be against West Virginia State at 4 p.m., followed by a game against the University of Charleston at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Coker will take the field at 4 p.m. against King, and then on Sunday the Cobras will wrap-up the tournament with a game against Lees-McRae at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets for the tournament will be $5 for adults and $3 for students per day. Coker faculty, staff and students will receive free admission with ID.
