Coker Softball Season Finale Moved to Friday

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College softball team will welcome the Anderson Trojans to the friendly confines of Saleeby-Stokes softball field for a SAC doubleheader on Friday (April 18).

Leading the way offensivelty for the Navy and Yellow are outfielders Katelyn Szupello and Sydney Weatherford. Szupello comes into the matchup with a team high .352 batting average to go along with 25 RBIs and four triples. Her four triples are good enough for second best in the conference. Weatherford looks to finish up what has been a read hot season for her at the plate as she is batting .350, as well as team highs in hits with 43, RBIs with 39, doubles with 11 and home runs with seven. Her RBI and home run totals are each good enough to be ranked in the top ten in the conference.

On the mound, the Cobras are led by Lauren Phillips who has a team high 9 wins and a 3.63 ERA.

The Trojans come to Hartsville as one of the top teams in the conference sportnig a 36-10 overall and 14-6 in conference record. They are led by the duo of Molly and Abby Child. Molly comes in batting .412 with 48 RBIs while Abby is batting .379 with 49 RBIs. Katelynn Howser leads the pitching staff with a 14-5 record to go along with a 1.79 ERA.

Seniors Syndey Weatherford, Stacy Burr, Alex Cataldo, Lauren Brailsford, Clarissa Suttle and Lauren Phillips will be honored between games one and two of the doubleheader.

Game one will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday with game two starting at 1 p.m. Both games will be played at Saleeby-Stokes softball field. Live stats and video can be followed at www.cokercobras.com
