Brailsford, Burr Named Academic All-Conference

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College softball players Lauren Brailsford and Stacy Burr were named to the Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference team, the league office announced today.

Brailsford is a junior psychology and criminology double major. A catcher/outfielder, Brailsford is hitting .205 with a triple, seven runs and 2 RBIs on the season.

Originally from Greer, S.C., Lauren is the daughter of John and Kim Brailsford.

Burr, a junior catcher, hails from Darlington, S.C., and is a physical education and sport studies major with a concentration in exercise science. She is hitting .205 with three doubles, 10 RBIs, eight runs and four steals on the season.

Stacy is the daughter of Billy and Lisa Burr.

The Cobras are 22-14 overall and 11-7 in conference play. They return to action for a conference doubleheader Saturday at Erskine College.

Conference Carolinas academic all-conference teams are awarded to junior and senior student-athletes with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution that have played in a conference-sponsored sport. The GPA is calculated based on the student-athletes' cumulative GPA through the previous semester and each student-athlete must have attended their member institution for at least one academic year.
