Coker Softball To Host Mount Olive

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker softball team will host Mount Olive on Wednesday (Mar. 13), in a Conference Carolinas competition.  Live video broadcast will be available at www.cokercobras.com

The Cobras are entering Wednesday's game winning nine of their last ten games.  In their latest series, Coker split a double-header with Catawba that snapped an eight game win streak. 

However, Coker is 6-0 in the conference and is currently the top team in the league. 

Sydney Weatherford leads the team with 20-RBIs along with four homeruns.  Weatherford's 20-RBIs lead the league, while her four homeruns tie for second.   Sarah Rountree leads the team with a .350 batting average and six stolen bases.  Her six stolen bases are tied for the second most in the conference.  

Pitching continues to be strong for Coker with Lauren Phillips and Breanna Skipper posting the lowest ERAs in the conference at 1.15 and 1.26.  Skipper has the highest number of wins in the league with seven on the year.

Mount Olive is coming off a 10-4 win over Due West.  The Trojans are lead by Jennifer Jones and Beth Overman with batting averages of .379 and .367. 

Game one is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time, followed by game two at 3:00 p.m.
